Visit to Monteray Bay Aquarium and Santa Cruz

Finally, I got a chance to go to the Aquarium at Monteray bay! I've heard nothing but great things about the aquarium, and so I just had to go! Luckily, I got a few work friends to travel down with me! I was so excited to go! One thing that's been great not going to school this summer is, I get a chance to enjoy my new state! There is so much to do and so much to see in my area, and I'm trying to see as much as I can! The Aquarium was our first stop in Monteray, following that was Bubba Gump to grab food, then right next door was a candy store!...As many as you know, I can't turn down sweets! After Monteray we decided to travel an Hour up from Monteray and go to Santa Cruz..Santa Cruz was where that TV show, Step by Step was filmed! It was a fun area but, it was cold! The wind was cold but that's normal, since we were on the coast! A day of fun a day for me, of sight seeing was a blast! It took us 2 hours to get back home because, of traffic in San Jose! On the way home, I forgot there's an In N Out just 15 minutes away from Walnut Creek, so we went there for dinner! So good! It's been awhile, I must say having In N out! I think ever since I moved here, I've been at In N Out twice! Instead of me enjoying their trad. hamburger, I ordered it "Protein style"..Which was No Buns but, just a bead of lettuce wrapped around the Meat, Tomatoes, Onions and sauce! Which is amazing by the way, and more healthy! You should try it! My day ended at the gym of course! Where I worked off the sweets for that day! Over all, my day was amazing! I had great company, great food, great weather and a great experience! So glad, I didn't have school on my mind!

To Sum up my first year at FIDM

I finished 9 months of hard hard work at school! FIDM, has been such an amazing experience for sure! FIDM stands for (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising). I attend right in the heart of San Francisco. I've always been a person that loves to be busy, and stay focused. Well, you can say that again! You can say that I gave FIDM all my heart, mind and strength I had in me! After the months progressed, the more i began to feel more confident in myself. I began, to believe in myself! Not only having faith that I can finish all my hw, but I can continue working for Nordstrom and I'd still be blessed. My Last semester which was in March through June was intense. I have pictures to follow, but It was a crazy semester at the home stretch. I had more then 10 projects to finished, and due in the same week! My wonderful mother came to rescue me, and help me out! Thanks mom!! But, I survived, and good thing because I'm taking summer off from school, to get a chance to breath!

--To give you an Idea, on what I was up to here you go...Here is one!

For a class I had to come up with a designer, and create a shopping bag that best describes the designer...Inside the shopping bag had to have this....A Pop up runway, with models and props, with designer logo....Pop up shop(Where would you carry the clothing, what would the store look like?) ALSO inside the shopping bag had to have, an inspiration board. The runway itself, took 8 hours to construct. The shopping bag is made of pure silk! Silk is so hard to work with, that's why it took me over 3 hours to build! But, everything you saw, i designed and came up with the concept! The whole point of this project was to construct many little projects, to fit inside the "Designer" shopping bag! I have this project sitting on my kitchen table. If you think about it, this isn't a cheap bag. Good thing I have a job, because I spent a lot of money getting materials esp the expensive silk (why do I have such expensive taste?)....But, this will always be in my sight, because this is one thing that I can't let go!

FIDM BOUND

FIDM BOUND!

It finally happened. I got accepted to Fashion Design school, out in San Francisco!! The school is right in the heart of the city, right on Stockton and Post. It sits right in the heart of all the shopping, and just 1 block away from my store, Nordstrom. I thought applying to Fashion school, was going to be so easy. I thought wrong, of course! Not only did I have to create 10 portfolio pictures, but I had to do a 3 page essay, 10 page forms, an hr long interview via phone, not to mention I had to take a placement test. For all of this to be complete, it took me about a month to do! But, the end result was worth it. This has been my dream for 11 years, and Im not going to give it up!! Hard work will be a sure thing, But i can do it!! Maybe one day, you'll be wearing my designs!
